Dear GSM Community,

I am thrilled to announce that Judy Nagai has joined us as our new Assistant Dean of Development and External Relations. She began this week and has already hit the ground running to lead our team and the School to even greater heights of effectiveness and visibility.

Judy brings more than 18 years of higher education management experience in development, alumni relations, student affairs and communications and public relations activities. She has the in-depth understanding of institutional advancement and capital campaigns to build momentum and financial support for our mission.

Most recently, Judy served at the Director of External Relations at the College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where from 2002 until last month she was actively involved with key gifts that led to the completion of a $500 million comprehensive campaign, led the Dean’s Advancement Team, managed the Dean’s Advisory Board, and directed alumni relations, publications and communications.

Prior to UNLV, Judy developed and implemented successful alumni engagement strategies at Stanford University, where she served as Stanford Alumni Association’s Deputy Director of Young Alumni and University Outreach, and Associate Director of Class Alumni Relations.

Judy earned her B.S. degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a Master of Education degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from the University of Vermont. And, earlier this year, Judy earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Please join me in welcoming Judy. Her office is 2214 Gallagher Hall, please stop by and say hello. Her contact information is on our website at http://gsm.ucdavis.edu/staff-profile/judy-nagai
