A Message from Dean Curall
January 2013
Dear Members of the GSM Community:
I wish to update you on an issue of interest to the UC Davis Graduate School of Management community.
In a few months, U.S. News & World Report will release its annual ranking of graduate business schools. These rankings incorporate several key MBA student metrics that are self-reported by the schools to U.S. News such as: grade point average, GMAT score and percentage of applicants accepted by the school.
Kathy Gleed Named Chief Diversity Officer
In January we launched a School-wide diversity plan led by Linda Oubre as our first Chief Diversity Officer. With Linda’s impending departure in June, I am pleased to announce that Kathy Gleed will serve as the School’s Chief Diversity Officer. She will continue in her current role as Director of Academic and Student Services.
Building on the work already underway, Kathy will continue to work with our constituencies to develop and implement initiatives that reflect our commitment to achieving a diverse and outstanding student body, faculty and staff.
A Message from Dean Currall
Dear GSM Community,
As we enter the last few weeks of our 30th academic year at the Graduate School of Management, I invite you to join me for a community town hall meeting on Monday, May 7, from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the Abbaszadeh Lecture Hall at Gallagher Hall.
This will be an open forum to share ideas, provide updates and address any concerns you may have, and an opportunity for me to answer your questions about the School and UC Davis.

Dear GSM Community,
The task force looking into the November 2011 pepper-spray incident at UC Davis released its report and recommendations today. The documents have been posted to the UC Davis website, and will be unveiled at a public meeting here on campus that begins at 3:30 p.m.
The incident occurred after Occupy UC Davis students and supporters established a tent encampment to protest tuition and fee increases. When protesters refused orders to disperse, campus police officers used pepper spray.
A Message from Dean Currall
Dear GSM Community,
We have all been closely following the sad events at UC Davis on Friday, 18 November, in which campus police pepper-sprayed student protesters. Our university community is shaken, and I value your questions, comments and concerns.
The University of California is a home of free speech, and we support the right of campus citizens to assemble and protest peacefully. UC Davis and the UC Office of the President have initiated thorough investigations of the use of force to ensure that it will not happen again.

Dear GSM Community,
