Ram N.V. Ramanan conducts research on how accounting information is disseminated and processed.
Ramanan received his Ph.D. in accounting information and management in 2007 from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore and a bachelor of science with a major in mathematics from the University of Madras. He is also a Chartered Accountant. Before graduate school, he gained real-world experience in the banking and auditing industries.

200B Managerial Accounting
Focuses on the use of accounting information for better managerial decision making and creating value for organizations. Topics include product costing, cost allocation, incremental analysis, budgeting, variance analysis, and performance evaluation. Methods for learning include lectures, problem solving, case presentations and discussion.
