GSM Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) Committee Representative

The UC Davis Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) Committee is looking for a representative from the Graduate School of Management.

The SHIP Committee was formed to provide broad campus involvement in the maintenance and development of the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), and to provide informed advice to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs regarding SHIP.  The UC Davis student health care package combines the primary care services at Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) with medical and dental insurance. The Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) provides UC Davis students with affordable access to medical care beyond what is available at SHCS. 

The Committee is comprised of students, university administration and faculty. Members are appointed by the Vice-Chancellor for one-year term.

Objectives:

Maintain and Develop SHIP

  • Address changes in insurers, benefits, premiums, deductibles
  • Participate in policy renewal process through:
  • Discussion of renewal issues
  • Dathering of input from students and other interested campus partners
  • Recommendation to VC Student Affairs regarding future SHIP benefits and premium

The meetings are held once a quarter or depending on need, and typically occur between 5:00pm -7:00pm at Student Health Center.
