Investing in Our School

As an alumnus, I am excited about the progress the Graduate School of Management has made in increasing its profile, prestige and rankings.

As you may know, in 2013 The Economist ranked UC Davis No. 1 among business schools for its diversity of corporate recruiters. This recognition reflects our alma mater’s commitment to attract top firms and place its graduates with those firms in the Sacramento region, the Bay Area, across the country and abroad. In addition, The Economist employed a variety of metrics to place the GSM:

  1. 37th in the country and 65th in the world;
  2. 56th for breadth of alumni network;
  3. 17th for faculty quality; and
  4. 52nd for percentage increase on pre-MBA salary.

I am excited to share that the GSM Alumni Association’s board has set a goal to achieve 20 percent alumni participation in giving to the School this year. There are a variety of ways to make your gift, and all donations will be used to improve the immediate and long-term value of the UC Davis MBA, as well as the quality of education and post-graduation support provided to alumni.

Every donation, no matter how large or small, counts toward our goal. Together, we truly can all have an impact.

Please make a New Year’s resolution to join me and make your gift today to the GSM Annual Giving Campaign.

The Annual Giving Campaign encompasses the broad cross-section of programs to support the School, including the Student Scholarship Fund, the Student Professional Development Fund, the GSM Endowment Fund, the Working Professional Endowment, the Master in Professional Accountancy, and the Annual Fund.

Please ask your human relations department if your company has a matching contribution plan for charitable or community giving that can increase your investment in the School.

All contributions increase the quality of the education the School delivers, and are an investment in yourselves and the present and future value of the innovative leaders produced by our programs.

Please support the GSM and make your gift today.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

What opportunities, decisions, events have shaped your professional life?

My career path has been a climb across a jungle gym rather than a tangent up a corporate ladder. As a child, I used to thumb through the three-inch JCPenney catalogue, picking out the professional women who I would grow to be. I wanted to rule the world from a corner office in a suit and heels. I wanted to shed my humble origins and become Corporate Barbie.
