Mike Kim leads global business development for LinkedIn’s Profile and Higher Education product teams. He is responsible for identifying, executing, and managing strategic partnerships to drive member growth, engagement and profile completion. He will share strategies on how to fully utilize LinkedIn tools to maximize your internship and/or career search.
Steve Lee will present on “Grit, the Growth Mindset and the Marshmallow Test”. He is the Graduate Diversity Officer for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) related programs at UC Davis.
He previously trained and mentored graduate students at Northwestern University, where he served as an assistant director for a graduate professional development program. He has also served on the faculty of Roosevelt University and Wheaton College, and earned a PhD in chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a BS in chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University.

The UC Davis Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) Committee is looking for a representative from the Graduate School of Management.
The SHIP Committee was formed to provide broad campus involvement in the maintenance and development of the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), and to provide informed advice to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs regarding SHIP. The UC Davis student health care package combines the primary care services at Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) with medical and dental insurance. The Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) provides UC Davis students with affordable access to medical care beyond what is available at SHCS.
The Committee is comprised of students, university administration and faculty. Members are appointed by the Vice-Chancellor for one-year term.
Maintain and Develop SHIP
Address changes in insurers, benefits, premiums, deductibles
Participate in policy renewal process through:
Discussion of renewal issues
Dathering of input from students and other interested campus partners
Recommendation to VC Student Affairs regarding future SHIP benefits and premium
The meetings are held once a quarter or depending on need, and typically occur between 5:00pm -7:00pm at Student Health Center.

Virtual Event Management System (EMS) is a software system for managing classrooms and meeting rooms within the Graduate School of Management. It is also used as a central calendaring system for events sponsored by the School and its student clubs. Faculty, Staff, and Students can use this system to reserve meeting space and specify technical services for their events.

A laptop computer less than three years old is required. To ensure complete compatibility with the wireless network and print services at the GSM, Dell Latitude series laptops are recommended and educational discounts are available through the UC Davis Bookstore Techhub shop.
You must have access to Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (or better) and a recent version of Microsoft Office for Windows.
Apple/Mac owners must use Mac OSx 10.7 (Lion) or newer. Apple/Mac owners must also use Bootcamp, Parallels, or VMWare Fusion to run Windows 7 and a recent version of Microsoft Office for Windows.
Antivirus software is required when using the campus network. Microsoft’s Security Essentials (MSE) and Sophos Home Edition for Mac are no cost Anti-Virus software.
Activating Your UC Davis Account & E-mail
You activate your UC Davis computing account via the UC Davis website (computingaccounts.ucdavis.edu) to obtain a Kerberos log in/password and Mail ID. You need these three items and your Personal Access Code (PAC) to access online services provided by UC Davis (e.g., registration, career services tools, etc.).
As a UC Davis GSM student, you have access to the following services:
Wireless network accessible anywhere in the GSM building.
Personal UC Davis email account.
Dedicated printers in the building.
The UC Davis Student Computing Guide (scg.ucdavis.edu) and Help & Training (iet.ucdavis.edu/help/) provide computing support information.
