Center for Investor Welfare and Corporate Responsibility
The mission of the Center for Investor Welfare and Corporate Responsibility promotes research, pedagogy and outreach that improves investor welfare and/or corporate responsibility.
The center serves to infuse science into investment management and corporate practice. To do so, the center promotes research, teaching and service that emphasize the rigorous application of scientific principles to investment management and corporate practices.
To accomplish its goals, the center draws on the rich research tradition at UC Davis, which ranks 12th nationally in research funding. Many of the Graduate School of Management’s faculty are actively engaged in research of relevance for the center’s mission. Their areas of interest include corporate financial fraud, the behavior and performance of individual investors, the initial public offering process, short selling, and the behavior and performance of security analysts, to name but a few.
