Barbara Murphy
Former Chief Marketing Officer, Panasas

Barbara Murphy brings over 20 years of marketing leadership for both private and public companies.  She currently provides marketing consulting services for venture backed early stage startups.  Most recently she was the Chief Marketing Officer of Panasas, a high performance storage systems company. Prior to that she served as a VP of marketing for 3ware and later senior vice president for Applied Micro Circuits Corporation’s (AMCC) Storage Division through the acquisition of 3ware, Inc.  Before joining 3ware, Murphy spent seven years in various marketing management roles at Adaptec in the areas of product management, product marketing, and OEM and channel development.  Earlier in her career she held a number of marketing and engineering roles in the data communications industry with British Telecom and GEC Plessey.

Murphy holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Limerick, Ireland, an MBA from Santa Clara University and a Masters in International Relations from Victoria University, New Zealand.
