Consultant, Roll Global
Curran Hughes joined Roll Global as a consultant within the corporate Strategy Group in 2013. He has since worked on high level strategy and operations projects across the company, including enhancing distribution networks for consumer goods, labor relations, and optimizing production operations. Prior to Roll Global, Hughes worked at the UC Davis International Programs Office on the e-Afghan Ag project, which supported USDA initiatives in Afghanistan and worked closely with the Afghan Ministry of Agriculture to develop an online agricultural information resource. As a graduate student at UC Davis, Hughes received a grant from the Blum Center for Developing Economies to examine the application of low cost drip irrigation technologies in northern India.
Before UC Davis, Hughes worked for the Seattle Urban Farm Company, which promoted and implemented urban agriculture on a commercial scale in the Seattle area. Prior to his agriculturally focused career, Hughes worked for American Councils as the in-country director for Persian language programs in Dushanbe, Tajikistan; and as an English teacher for the Timorese government and UN Peacekeeping Mission in Dili, East Timor and a corporate instructor in Moscow, Russia.
Hughes holds a bachelor degree in Geography and Russian from Macalester College and an Master of Science in International Agricultural Development from UC Davis.
