Marc Gottschalk is a Partner at Sidley Austin LLP. He is one of a small inner circle in Silicon Valley who pioneered the U.S. cleantech sector and helped shape it into a new driver for global innovation and economic growth. His core areas of practice include advising cleantech and other emerging growth companies in corporation formation and venture finance transactions. Gottschalk also has extensive experience representing companies in complex real estate and environmental matters from property leasing, purchase and sale and development to environmental risk management, regulatory advice. Gottschalk also served as the co-chair of the Energy and Clean Technology practice at a well known high technology law firm. While there, he assisted dozens of innovative cleantech companies go to market.

Prior to joining Sidley, Gottschalk served as chief business development officer and general counsel for Proterra Inc, a manufacturer of advanced electric drive and energy storage solutions for heavy duty vehicles (including its industry leading fast charge EcoRide transit bus).

Gottschalk is the co-founder and board chair of the Cleantech Open, a world-leading organization that provides vital resources inventors and entrepreneurs need to take cleantech innovations from concept to operating business.
He has been named a California Super Lawyer by Law and Politics Magazine.

He has a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

(Davis, CA) — The UC Davis Part-Time MBA program offered in Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area is ranked among the top 9% in the U.S., according to U.S. News & World Report’s latest graduate business school rankings.

At No. 29, this is the fourth consecutive year the UC Davis Part-Time MBA program is among the top AACSB International-accredited part-time MBA programs surveyed. This year, there were 323 part-time MBA programs surveyed.

U.S. News’ latest ranking places the Full-Time MBA program at No. 48, placing it among the top 10% of the 464 Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International’s accredited full-time MBA programs surveyed.
