Tracy Shafizadeh
Associate Director, Lipomics Services, Metabolon

Tracy Shafizadeh received her Ph.D. in nutritional biology from the University of California, Davis. She is a associate director of Lipomics Services, a division of Metabolon. For the past 10 years, Dr. Shafizadeh has worked in the areas of personalized medicine and diagnostic development, specifically focused on the role of nutrition and metabolism in cardio-metabolic disease. Prior to joining Metabolon she served as product development manager at Tethys Bioscience, where she led the development of diagnostic tools designed to assess the risk of developing Type II Diabetes. Dr. Shafizadeh has also served in scientific and business development roles at Lipomics Technologies and numerous consulting positions for the nutrition and agTech sectors.

Dr. Shafizadeh is a 2005/06 Business Development Fellow Alumna from the Child Family Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She is a frequent guest speaker and mentor in the institute’s academies.
