Course Registration Changes
Adding/Dropping Classes, Refunds and More

SmartSite Access

When you change courses or add an additional course, it takes between 24-48 hours for the registration information to be updated in SmartSite.  The change is not reflected immediately.  SmartSite is not for confirming enrollment or verifying final grades.

Adding an Additional Course

In the Course Schedule application, add an additional course in Manage Schedule and proceed to Pay for Courses.

Dropping a Course -  Prior to the First Day of the Quarter

Prior to the first day of the quarter courses may be dropped using RaPS, removing the course from Manage Schedule.

Dropping a Course -  After the First Day of the Quarter

To drop a course during the period between the first day of the quarter and the drop deadline, remove the course from Manage Schedule in RaPS. The GSM Registrar will be automatically notified and must manually administer the change. An email confirmation will be sent once your drop request has been processed. Please allow up to two business days for processing. Students do not need to email the GSM Registrar separately.

Please check the Academic Calendar for drop dates. It is your responsibility to be aware of these deadlines.

Refunds

Refunds are not automatically issued by the University when you drop a course and can only be processed after GSM approval.  To request your refund, contact the GSM Registrar.  Please allow a minimum of 5 to 7 business days to process the request. Requests made before the start of the quarter will not be processed until after the first week of the quarter.

Refunds are processed based on the method of payment.  If course fees were paid with a credit card, the refund will be returned to that card.  If course fees are paid with a check or cash, the refund will be returned as a credit via direct deposit.

The university is not allowed to hold money in student accounts, so it is not possible for payment from one quarter to roll forward to the next quarter.
