Sacramento MBA Program Summer 2015 Registration Instructions

Registration Timeline and Overview

Please read the instructions carefully prior to starting the registration process.

NOTE: Students access two different systems for registration and payment.

  1. GSM System: Registration and Processing System (RaPS) is for registration (add/drops)
  2. UC Davis System: SISWEB (MyBill) is for payment

GSM Registration and Processing System (RaPS)

  • Registration and all GSM adds/drops/course changes processed in RaPS (and forwarded to SISWEB). DO NOT access SISWEB directly for registration actions.
  • MOBILE DEVICES: Students should not use mobile devices to process their RaPS registration or MyBill payments.
  • DROPPING CLASSES: Students cannot drop their last class. If you need to drop your last (only) class, contact your Program Manager directly.
  • STUDENT DIRECTORY: Students will receive an automated prompt which allows them to update their directory one week prior to their registration group being open. Students must confirm the information in the directory before proceeding to registration.

Registration Groups

Reg2 (18-41 completed units) Opens: May 15

Student Bills Available on SISWEB, MyBill

May 22

Initial Registration Deadline

May 26 at midnight

If you do not plan to enroll this quarter, you must file the Non-Registration form by the above deadline.

All summer classes, regardless of start date, must be added or dropped by the above deadline to avoid the registration penalty fee.

Cross Registration Requests Confirmed

May 27

Students select and pay for cross registration courses at the same time they select courses at their home campus. Processing cross registration enrollment begins after initial registration closes and confirmation of enrollment emailed to student by the date above.

Fee Payment Deadline

June 15

Students who miss the payment deadline are subject to $125 (up to $250) registration penalty fee.

Students are responsible for managing their university account and meeting the payment deadline to avoid being assessed the registration penalty fee.

Students can access their bill and pay through MyBill

Adding Courses After the Student Fee Payment Deadline

Any units added after the Fee Payment Deadline of June 15 will result in additional charges on a student bill.  Students are expected to pay this balance immediately.  Any student with a balance due at the start of the quarter risks being dropped from all courses. If a student is dropped from a fully enrolled class with a wait list for non-payment, they lose their place in the course.

Students are responsible for managing their university account and meeting the payment deadline of June 15 to avoid being assessed the registration penalty fee.  Students can access their bill and pay through MyBill.

Deferred Payment Plan

Only students who have enrolled in the Deferred Payment Plan (DPP) through MyBill may pay installments on the 15th of each month. All other students are expected to pay in full by the Fee Payment Deadline or immediately up enrolling in additional courses after the Fee Payment Deadline.

Independent or Group Study Request Deadline (Independent Group Study Request Form and Detailed Instructions)

Registration Process

There are multiple steps to the registration process.

Registration in RaPS transmits to the campus system on an hourly basis during these times

Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. to 12 midnight
Saturday – Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Any registration and payment submitted outside of these times are date/time stamped and submitted as soon as the campus system re-opens.

Students are enrolled in courses based on the date/time stamp of their payment/registration for the quarter. Within 24 hours payment, students receive an automated enrollment confirmation email. If a confirmation email is not received, return to RaPS, Manage Schedule and check your status in the Enrollment Status column. Click on the link in the column for additional information on your current status. Do not verify enrollment in SmartSite.

Cross registration courses may be selected during your initial registration period. Enrollments for these courses do not process until after initial registration closes.

All GSM registration activity (adding and/or dropping) must be done in RaPS, DO NOT ACCESS SISWEB. By entering registration changes directly into SISWEB, students will automatically activate a registration freeze on their accounts. Be advised that it may take in excess of 72 hours to resolve the conflict in both systems.

Manage Schedule

Before entering the registration system, you will be asked to update your Student Directory information. It is recommended that students not use a mobile device when accessing RaPS as it is not mobile-optimized.

In RaPS, log in (UCD LoginID and Kerberos passphrase) and update Student Directory information. Proceed to Manage Schedule and select courses you plan to take for the quarter. (Cross registration courses may be selected as well.) Proceed to Pay for Courses.

UC Davis: SISWEB (MyBill) Student Bill Overview

UC Davis assess fees generally one month prior to the term’s payment deadline and then occur on a nightly basis. Fees are not assessed immediately upon enrollment.

After enrolling in courses and fees have been assessed, students can view their outstanding account balance using mybill.ucdavis.edu. MyBill account balances and activity are updated in real-time throughout the day and any payments from the Cashier’s Office are posted to the student account at 6:00 p.m. (PST) nightly.

Please note that the MyBill statement is a monthly statement; it is only updated on the 22nd day of each month. Students must be enrolled in courses by the GSM Initial Registration deadline to have a MyBill statement generated BEFORE the Student Fee Payment deadline.

This bill is a statement of funds owed to the university, not your student account.

Refunds are processed by the Student Accounting Office weekly. Any questions should be directed to Student Accounting.

What opportunities, decisions, events have shaped your professional life?

My career path has been a climb across a jungle gym rather than a tangent up a corporate ladder. As a child, I used to thumb through the three-inch JCPenney catalogue, picking out the professional women who I would grow to be. I wanted to rule the world from a corner office in a suit and heels. I wanted to shed my humble origins and become Corporate Barbie.
