Earning your MBA is one of the greatest commitments and most significant investments of time and money you will ever make. The Graduate School of Management and Office of Financial Aid offer comprehensive financial assistance to enable you to enroll in the UC Davis MBA Program. The types of assistance available depend on the MBA program you choose.

Most Bay Area MBA students receive financial support from their employers. The types of funding available to you when enrolling in the part-time Bay Area MBA Program include:

• Employer funding
• Student loans (government and private)
• Private scholarships

Fee Payment Schedule

Fees for Bay Area MBA students entering fall 2012 are $1,340 per unit. Fees include course fees, text books, textpaks, meals, parking and access to all UC libraries. Students are required to complete 72 units for the degree, the cost of which is currently $96,480.

Fees are due each quarter prior to registration for courses in the MBA program. Students typically take two courses per academic quarter, most of which are 3-units. Fees do not cover access to the UC Davis Student Health Center or athletic facilities.

Financial Aid

The University disburses all loans under the Federal Direct Loan Programs to you in three installments, one per academic quarter. Disbursements are activated after you have paid your course fees and enrolled in courses.

Direct loans are made by the U.S. government and administered by the U.S. Department of Education. Using the income and asset information provided on the FAFSA, the Financial Aid Office will determine your eligibility and notify you of the types and amounts of Direct Loan for which you qualify.

Alternative Financing Options

Employee Reimbursement Plans may be offered through your current employer to reimburse you for fees and other program costs. Check with your human resources or benefits office to see what reimbursement plans may be available to you. Make sure you are aware of any program restrictions or special requirements.

Private Sector Educational Loan Programs provide both fixed-amount loan programs and revolving lines of credit. Unlike the federal loans, these programs are based on creditworthiness. Interest rates are usually higher, and interest will begin to accrue immediately, although you often have the option of deferring payment while you are in school.

Private Scholarships

A limited number of donor scholarships are available each year. Students apply in the fall and the Scholarship Committee announces the recipients in the winter.

Each year, the Graduate School of Management Alumni Association awards scholarships to three students, one from each MBA program.  Students are nominated in the fall and the Alumni Scholarship Committee selects the recipient.
