Swedish native Cathinka Wahlstrom, has a Bachelor of Arts in economics and journalism. She began her affiliation with the GSM in 1989 when she began the Full-Time MBA program.

Her earlier work experience includes positions with the International Monetary Fund, Hay Management Consultants and Citibank.

After graduating from the GSM, Cathinka spent time in Washington, D.C., and London. In 1997 she moved to Manhattan and began working for Anderson Consulting, now Accenture. Today she is the managing partner of Accenture’s New York office and the global client partner for one of the firm’s larger clients—a Fortune 20 company headquartered in New York City.

Cathinka’s work focuses on supporting mergers and acquisitions, business change and transformational programs, and technology initiatives. She has built deep client relationships among capital markets, stock exchanges and banking clients, and her work takes her to several continents.

In addition, Cathinka is a member of Accenture’s CEO Advisory Council, an exclusive group of 20 partners who provide counsel and advice to the company’s CEO. She is also a member of the Horizon 2012 team, which consists of senior leaders working on the firm’s strategy initiatives.

Cathinka leads various mentoring, diversity and civic initiatives and is actively involved in recruiting activities. She is on the corporate board of the Global Fund for Women. She serves on the executive committee of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce of New York and provides executive coaching to Robin Hood Foundation–supported organizations. She is a board member of NPower NY, a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive technology assistance to other nonprofit groups, and training and employment for disadvantaged youths. She is also a Foreign Policy Association Fellow and a David Rockefeller Fellow.

Cathinka lives in Manhattan with her husband, Alberto, and her seven-year-old twins, Mia and Max. She is a regular contributor to the GSM Annual Fund.

(Davis, CA) — The UC Davis Part-Time MBA program offered in Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area is ranked among the top 9% in the U.S., according to U.S. News & World Report’s latest graduate business school rankings.

At No. 29, this is the fourth consecutive year the UC Davis Part-Time MBA program is among the top AACSB International-accredited part-time MBA programs surveyed. This year, there were 323 part-time MBA programs surveyed.

U.S. News’ latest ranking places the Full-Time MBA program at No. 48, placing it among the top 10% of the 464 Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International’s accredited full-time MBA programs surveyed.
