Emily Rancer ‘11
Emily Rancer is a second-year MBA candidate with a concentration in marketing. Before turning to business, Emily was in journalism, most recently as Assistant Managing Editor at the Pacific Coast Business Times –a weekly business journal based in Santa Barbara, Calif. There, she organized, produced and wrote for the weekly paper. She also led the redesign of the journal’s website in 2008, increasing hits 10-fold. Emily earned a bachelors in journalism from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, where she was Editor in Chief of the school’s daily newspaper, the Mustang Daily, her senior year. Emily intends to take her favorite aspects of journalism — such as deadlines, strategy and project management — and fold them into a new career in marketing. At the UC Davis GSM, Emily is on the board of Net Impact and is a member of the Marketing Association and Women in Leadership.
