New Year, New Approach
Summer break is over and the Fall Quarter is about to begin, which means it’s time to get ready for classes and get back in the swing of things.
I’ve gone through this process many times before and it’s always the same – I buy my books, read each course syllabus, and plan out my calendar. Everything is happening just as usual, except it’s not.
This quarter I’ll be starting classes after working a full-time MBA internship, which has changed the way I will approach the new school year. With more experience under my belt and a better understanding of what I want to do for a career, I am coming back to the GSM with great focus and determination. I know what I need to learn to position myself for success after graduation. It’s quite amazing what an internship can do to you!
Reflecting upon my summer internship, I could not have asked for a better experience. I worked for Walmart Inc., the largest retailer in the world. I moved across the country to experience an entirely new setting, I met talented people from around the world, and I worked on projects that greatly stretched my skill sets.
I am excited to come back to Davis and learn about the experiences of my classmates, as I’m sure many of them had a unique summer as well.
