Associated Students of Management (ASM)
The Associated Students of Management represents the student voice and enriches the Graduate School of Management journey.

In addition to academics, this includes joining and leading student clubs and associations, joining the intramural sports teams, participating in events like the Net Impact Tahoe Trip, The Big Party and monthly movie nights, BBQs, and other social events. Above all it’s about being a part of our amazing GSM community.

About our Club

Our Mission

The mission of the Associated Students of Management is to enhance the value of the student experience at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management by creating a collaborative community that facilitates academic, social, and professional growth. We infuse energy into every activity while building a reputation of innovation and excellence.

Who We Are

The ASM is the representative student government at the University of California, Davis Graduate School of Management and is comprised of Full-Time MBA and MPAc candidates. We provide a framework for incorporating student ideas into the MBA program, networking with alumni, engaging in philanthropic activities and coordinating extra-curricular events. Members are entitled to support from the ASM board and have full access to activities, clubs and other benefits.

Students must be ASM members (pay a one-time membership fee) to run for club offices, including ASM, and to vote in ASM and club elections. Dues go directly to supporting the foundation of the student run activities listed above.

ASM Class of 2018 Board Members


Kristen Parker, President

Kristen is a 2018 MBA candidate at the GSM who is interested in strategic planning, general management and finance. In addition to her role on the ASM she serves as a GSM Ambassador. Kristen is a Davis native who lived here throughout her childhood and attended UC Davis for her undergraduate degree. After earning her bachelor’s in managerial economics, Kristen spent eight years moving throughout the United States and working in corporate retail and wholesale as a Retail Buyer, Planning Analyst, and Wholesale Buyer. Kristen shares her life with her husband, Thomas; and two daughters, Audrey and Evelyn. Life both in school and at home keep her quite busy, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Vice President 

Ty Boruff, Vice-President

Ty is a 2018 MBA candidate interested in operations, organizational behavior, and business analytics. He also serves as the Director of Finance for Challenge for Charity. Ty grew up in Southern California’s Inland Empire, and graduated with a business degree from Columbia Southern University. He served his community for nearly a decade with the Riverside Sheriff’s Department, where he was involved in the creation of several projects aimed at reducing recidivism and assisting military veterans. Outside of school, Ty is either spending time with his family, doing something Star Wars related, or both.

Director of Finance 

Harshit Khurana, Director of Finance

Harshit is a 2018 MBA candidate focusing on marketing and data analytics. In addition to his role on the ASM, he serves as the President for MBA Challenge for Charity and International Students Lead for GSM Ambassadors. Harshit comes from India and holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Prior to attending UC Davis, he worked as a Data Analyst with Accenture for three and a half years. Harshit is interested in technology, cooking, traveling, and giving back to the community. During his free time, he enjoys walking, making connections, watching movies, and hosting dinners for friends.

Director of Marketing

Julianne Fraker, Director of Marketing

Julianne is a 2018 MBA candidate focusing on organizational strategy and general management. In addition to her role on the Associated Students of Management board, she also serves as the president of Women in Leadership. After earning a B.A. in Art History and German from UC Berkeley, she spent five years managing arts organizations in the Bay Area. She remains a dedicated supporter of the arts and continues to volunteer with the talented artists at Creative Growth, a non-profit serving adults with developmental disabilities, whenever she has the chance. 

Director of Internal Events

Chelsea Kane, Director of Internal Events

Chelsea is a 2018 MBA candidate with interests in organizational behavior, general management, and finance. She grew up around the United States and landed in Carlsbad, San Diego for her high school years. She studied global economics at UC Santa Cruz and proceeded to return to southern California to work in human resources and management at a law firm. Declaring Carlsbad as her hometown, she is a beach girl at heart. In her free time, she loves planning her next adventure to the water, being outdoors, listening to music, and traveling.

Director of External Events

Julie Woodworth, Director of External Events

Julie is a 2018 MBA candidate interested in strategy, organizational behavior, and general management. She attended UC Davis for her undergrad, earning a degree in Communication and Psychology. She liked Davis so much that she returned for her MBA after working in various HR Operations roles for 5 years. After graduating from business school, Julie plans to work in the technology industry where she thrives on the energy and innovation. When she’s not working or studying, she can be found hiking with her dog, exploring Lake Tahoe, and going to concerts with friends.

Director of Alumni Relations

Nikhil Rao, Director of Alumni Relations

Nikhil is a 2018 MBA candidate focused on strategy, finance, and technology management. He also serves as the Vice President of the GSM Finance Association. Nikhil spent his early years living around the globe before settling in New Jersey. He studied Electrical Engineering at RPI. There, he led the Entrepreneurship Club and ignited his passion to impact the world positively using business and technology skills. He worked in Silicon Valley for five years in engineering and business development roles for next generation consumer products. Nikhil joined UC Davis to take his career to the next stage. When not at the GSM, Nikhil spends time with his wife and loves to travel with her. He also an avid bibliophile and is always excited to get new book recommendations.

Director of Information

Brianna Wright, Director of Information

Originally from Virginia, Brianna first came to California to work for AmeriCorps VISTA. There she discovered her passion for organizational behavior and strategy. She transitioned into HR for two years before pursuing her MBA. After her upcoming internship with Golden 1 Credit Union, Brianna hopes to continue working on projects that help employees reach their full potential. Her specific areas of interest include learning and development, healthy work environments, and company culture. Brianna also serves as Vice President of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Association, Vice Chair of the Folsom Leading Young Professionals, and Membership and Events Committee member for Metro EDGE. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and wine tasting.

First-Year Student Liaison

Prior to pursuing his MBA, Matt had an extensive background in education. He taught ESL for over four years, including three years abroad. After transitioning to tech and working for a Bay Area food startup, he began the full-time program with an emphasis in Organizational Behavior. After his upcoming internship in HR at Blue Shield of California, he hopes to pursue a career in healthcare. Originally from San Diego, Matt lived in three countries outside the US before landing in Northern California. His passions are cooking, yoga, and music. His dream job is to be on the Clue Crew for ‘Jeopardy!’.

International Student Liaison

Kristoffer Wihlborg, International Student Liaison

Kristoffer is a 2018 MBA candidate and entrepreneur. Prior to joining the UC Davis Graduate School of Management, he started a yacht company in Sweden selling luxury sailing yachts. His new target industry is self-driving cars and sustainable transportation, which he believes will be one of society’s biggest challenges, and opportunities, in the coming decades. Kristoffer also serves as the Director of the GSM Ambassadors, a board member for Women in Leadership, and a board member of the non-profit Passive House California. His passions include sailing, skiing, and motorcycles.
