Mission, Purpose & Objectives


The Graduate School of Management Student Association Bay Area (GSMSA Bay Area) aims to improve the experience of students in the UC Davis Bay Area MBA program in order to prepare exemplary business leaders who make an impact in the global marketplace.


The purpose of the GSMSA Bay Area is to serve as a liaison between the Bay Area MBA students and the administration of the UC Davis Graduate School of Management.


The objective of the GSMSA Bay Area is to act as a strategic advisory board to the deans with the intentions of (a) improving the quality, value, and community of the Bay Area MBA Program, and (b) providing a platform for the discussion and action around issues of student concern.

Additionally, GSMSA Bay Area seeks to grow the value of the Graduate School of Management (GSM) in the U.S. and internationally by finding ways to increase the value proposition of the program for prospective students and employers.

Current Members

Gatha Sehgal Gatha Sehgal

Gatha is a 2021 MBA Candidate focused on Product Management and general management. Gatha was born in Delhi, India and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. She moved to the U.S. in 2014 to pursue an M..S in Information Technology at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. After completing her master’s degree, she began her career as a technical support engineer at Informatica. Now, Gatha is a senior software engineer as part of the Customer Engineering team at Cisco Appdynamics. She works with large enterprise customers on a day to day basis to help them with Appdynamics EUM and Analytics product. In her spare time, she likes to travel, doing adventure sports and explore new restaurants/cuisines with friends.

Chris Nathi
Vice President, External Affairs​

Chris is an MBA 2021 Candidate focused on Product Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Business strategy. Chris has a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with 17 years experience in Telecom,IT and Cloud computing. He is currently Sr.Manager at AT&T working on 5G, IOT, Strategy and planning. In his free time, he likes to travel with his family, play guitar, workout, snowboard and mountain bike.

Daniel Madruga  Daniel Madruga
Vice President, Internal Affairs​

Daniel is an MBA 2022 Candidate focused on Business Analytics and Finance. Daniel completed his undergraduate degree in Accounting at CSU Stanislaus. He has a background in budgeting, product costing and financial modeling in a manufacturing setting. Now, Daniel is a Financial Controller for Maxco Supply, a corrugated box manufacturer. In his free time, he likes to travel, lift weights, and discover new restaurants with his fiancee.

Suzanne Howard Suzanne Howard
Director of Academic Affairs

Suzanne is a 2021 MBA candidate interested in general business. Suzanne completed her undergraduate degree in Human Development at UC Davis, where she also competed on the track and field team. After graduating, she taught English in Busan, South Korea, and later obtained her Certificate in Project Management from UC Berkeley Extension. She has project manager experience in commercial real estate and in the education non-profit sectors. She is currently a business management professional at a government laboratory. When not in class, you can find Suzanne rock climbing or running in Berkeley.

Haiying Tiang  Haiying Tiang
Director of Student Affairs​

Haiying is a 2022 MBA candidate focused on entrepreneurship and business strategy. After completing her undergraduate degree in International Business in China, she acquired a variety of experience in new business development, project management and customer relationship management working for a leading retailer. After moving to the US, Haiying obtained Medical Coding Certification from AAPC and volunteered in a pain management clinic. In her spare time, Haiying enjoys traveling, mountain hiking and cooking spicy food for family and friends.

Krishna Gottam
Director of Professional and Career Development​

Krishna Gottam is a 2021 MBA candidate with a focus on General Management and Leadership. Krishna completed her Master of Science in Biotechnology from AU India. She also completed the Stem Cell Technology certification program at City College of San Francisco. She currently works as a Senior Manager, Commercial QA Drug Product team at Gilead Sciences, a biopharma company in Foster City. Krishna has 15+ years of experience in the biopharma industry with experience in both biologics and small molecules. Self-motivated, loves to career coach peers and friends as needed. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with friends and family, shopping and traveling to her favorite destinations. Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Spain, Ireland and Scotland are her favorite places to be.

Neha Chaturvedi  Neha Chaturvedi
Director of Marketing and Communications

Neha is a 2022 MBA Candidate focussed on Business Strategy and Entrepreneurship. She is an Engineering graduate with vast experience in the IT industry in various roles. She currently works as Program Manager. She is an avid traveler, hiker and loves road trips with her family. She is a certified PADI diver. During her free time, you can find her hiking the trails or exploring new restaurants.

Kevin Chuc  Kevin Chuc
Director of 2020 Signature Event

Kevin is a 2022 MBA candidate with a focus on general management and organizational behavior. Kevin completed his bachelor’s degree at UC Davis in Political Science and East Asian Studies. He currently works as a Lead Analyst for The Surplus Lines Association of California, a not-for-profit advisory organization to the California Department of Insurance. During his free time, Kevin enjoys traveling internationally and domestically, photography, and hiking around the local trails.
