Bay Area Textbooks & Textpaks

Required books and textpaks are included in your course fees. Please do not purchase these separately. Your course fees covers your textbooks for enrolled courses only. If you drop a course, you need to return all textbooks in mint condition or you will be charged for the replacement cost of the book. Instructions for returning textbooks for dropped classes are below.

Follow the instructions below to place your order. The GSM is not responsible for students who choose to purchase their course materials before receiving it from the bookstore. Students will not be reimbursed for such purchases nor will we adjust your fees if you purchase these separately.

If your course requires pre-readings prior to the first day of class, pre-readings will be available via Please check your syllabus for pre-reading information.

The summer 2012 book order form is now available.

All students will be allowed to order the required textbooks for your enrolled classes and have them shipped to your preferred address. Enrollment will be cross-referenced with the textbooks that you request. Students will only receive required textbooks for the courses they are enrolled in. Please allow 5 to 7 business days to receive your books from the time you submit your order form.

DROPPED CLASSES: If students order books for courses they later drop, it is the student’s responsibility to ship the textbook back to the bookstore.

Return conditions: Textbooks returned should be returned no later than the 2nd week of classes and in the condition they were received. Students who fail to return their textbooks in a timely manner or return damaged textbooks will have their student account placed on hold and may not be able to register for courses, have grades released, etc. Pre-addressed FedEx labels are available at the front desk for student convenience. A credit card is needed to pay for shipping. You may also return your textbooks by mailing them to the address below.

Textpak Information

Textpaks are a compilation of case studies, book chapters and supplemental materials that are developed by the professor as part of the required course readings. Students cannot receive textpaks prior to officially enrolling in the course.

Textpaks may be viewed online through the website and may be downloaded in electronic form. Students enrolled in the course will receive email notification when their textpaks are public. Instructions, including the textpak password, will be posted on the Smartsite course page. Once logged into, students may view materials online, print material and/or order a hard copy of the textpak directly from After logging into the website, students may search for their course and then begin viewing.
