New Scholarship Announced for Accounting Applicants
MPAc students to be awarded starting in Fall 2018
Crystal A. Coleman has pledged $50,000 to the Graduate School of Management for a new scholarship program.
The School will annually award select students with $2,000 each in scholarship support through a permanent endowment with the Master of Professional Accountancy program.
“The students going through this program are phenomenal. They’re head and shoulders above what I see for students entering the field.”
Coleman has served as a lecturer in the MPAc program since it began in 2013, having taught accounting for 14 years prior.
“Seeing it grow was rewarding,” she says. “It was a good opportunity for me to give back and be involved in the program in perpetuity through the scholarship.”
Coleman is an assurance principal with CliftonLarsonAllen, a top ten national accounting firm. She has had many graduates from UC Davis join her firm and has seen how MPAc not only prepares them well for the CPA exam, but for succeeding as a professional.
“The students going through this program are phenomenal,” she says. “They’re head and shoulders above what I see for students entering the field.”
Coleman devotes much of her time and energy on weekends toward mentoring and working with her students at the Graduate School.
“It’s really rewarding,” she adds. “The least I can do is to have an endowed program to help lead the next wave of talent through the program.”
