It is open to UC Davis students, faculty, researchers and staff as well as to the public.

This year’s competition will award more than $100,000 in prizes. The first prize award is $20,000 cash. The audience at Thursday’s event will vote to select the $7,500 People’s Choice Award winner. The five finalist teams are eligible for these two prizes.

The Big Bang! includes three Little Bang! Poster Competitions designed to help high school through doctoral students define their business idea and communicate it concisely through a poster. These entry-level contests support students who are first exploring entrepreneurship, and promote business ideas where university intellectual property is not a primary driver.
A networking reception begins at 5 p.m., with presentations and the awards ceremony from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The event is free, but reservations are requested. RSVP here >
