About Challenge For Charity (C4C)
About Us, Our Partners & Our Sponsors,

C4C is a non-profit organization that started at Stanford University, and has grown to nine chapters at top west coast MBA schools. The 2014-15 school year marks the 31st anniversary C4C has promoted philanthropy among MBA students. This business school organization, the largest of its kind in the world, draws on the talents, energy, and efforts of MBA students to infuse business leaders with a lifelong commitment to community involvement and social responsibility.

The different chapters compete in fundraising, volunteer events, and athletic competitions in pursuit of the coveted “Golden Briefcase.” The Golden Briefcase is awarded to the school that achieves the highest score in the following categories:

  • Most hours volunteered on a per-student basis throughout the year.
  • Most money raised on a per-student basis throughout the year.
  • Best sports performance at C4C weekend in the spring.

Our Chapter History

UC Davis has been a member of C4C since 2004. We charity partners are the Special Olympics of Northern California, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Sacramento, and recently added Habitat for Humanity as one of our partners.

Last year we raised over $12,000 and volunteered an average of 6.2 hours per student. We placed 4th overall in the Golden Briefcase competition for 2013-2014.  We were only 29 volunteer hours short of 3rd place. Let’s keep up this momentum all the way to the podium next year!
