Accelerating Students
Two-year curriculum option for part-time programs

Part-time students interested in completing the program in fewer than three years have the option of “accelerating”.

Accelerating students typically complete the program in approximately two years and take an average of 9 units per quarter.

Interested students should review the curriculum recommendations below to ensure that all prerequisites and core courses are completed in the appropriate quarter, allowing for early graduation.

INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT PROJECT CAPSTONE COURSE (440)

Two-Year Curriculum and The Integrated Management Project Capstone Course
  • Students must complete all core courses prior to taking the Integrated Management Capstone Course (440).
  • Students who have not completed their core will not be allowed to register for 440 without special permission.
  • 440 is offered once per year at each location; in Winter quarter in San Ramon and in Spring quarter in Sacramento.
  • 440 is a 5-unit course that will involve a substantial time commitment. Accelerating students may choose to take extra elective units in other quarters. There are many 1-unit electives offered throughout the year.
  • Students intending to take 440 in Year 2 will need to be in close communication with the GSM Registrar for project planning purposes.
Registration Notes
  • Students who wish to accelerate will typically need to wait until initial registration closes before they can register for second-year core courses (268, 201B, 252) during their first year. Exceptions may be made on a quarterly basis if a core conflict exists.
  • We can guarantee space availability in a core course but not section availability.
  • Bay Area students may be required to attend class every Friday depending on course/section availability.
  • We recommend taking the second-year core courses during the first year, however, if you would like to discuss taking an elective instead, please contact the GSM Registrar or your Program Manager.
