The Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Davis, seeks temporary instructors to teach two courses in Data Visualization for the academic quarter of Fall 2019. The course is part of the curriculum for the Masters of Science in Business Analytics program, offered in downtown San Francisco. (See for more details.)


The lecturer will be responsible for teaching two sections of the course. The course will be taught on Fridays during the 2019 Fall quarter.

Course Description

Extract insights using visualization tools in R, Python, ManyEyes, HTML/CSS, etc. Standard (histograms, boxplots, and dashboards) and specialized (3D, animation, word clouds) formats are covered.

Positions are contingent on funding and pending administrative approval. Salary is based on ability and experience. Applicants should have a relevant graduate degree, preferably a Ph.D. in the areas of Management Science, Operations Research, Marketing, Information Systems or Business Analytics. Applicants with significant industry experience in this domain will be preferred. In lieu of a graduate degree, we will also consider applicants with extensive relevant work experience (preferably at the executive level).
