MBA Students Make a Net Impact in 2017 Solarthon
On May 20, 2017, the Davis Net Impact MBA student club sponsored and helped install a solar PV system for a low-income family living in the North City Farms Neighborhood of Sacramento, providing 24kW of clean, renewable energy and offsetting of 460 tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually.
The nationally recognized Davis Net Impact chapter raised $6,000 to install the solar panels. It was among several solar installation block parties organized by GRID Alternatives SuperSolarthon.
And it marked the the second year in a row that the Davis Net Impact chapter has participated in Solarthon. Last year, the chapter supported Solarthon by raising $5,295 and installing a solar photovoltaic system for a low-income family in West Sacramento. It’s another example of how our students are committed to the triple bottom line—social, environmental and financial.
