Online MBA Registration Instructions
On this page you will find information regarding registration, cross registration, important dates and deadlines, core course details, grades, curriculum concentrations and much more.
Below are the instructions for registering for GSM courses. Please contact your program manager with any questions.
Important Tips for Using RaPS (Read before proceeding)
- Registration and all GSM adds/drops/course changes process in RaPS (and are forwarded electronically to campus systems).
- In RaPS Manage Schedule, after adding courses to your schedule, you must click Register to process the registration action in the system. A course appearing on the schedule does not mean a student is enrolled.
- Mobile Devices: Do not use mobile devices to process RaPS registration or MyBill payments.
- Dropping Classes: Students cannot drop their last class. If you need to drop your last class, contact the GSM Registrar.
Registration and Processing System (RaPS) Actions
Registration Dates and Deadlines
NOVEMBER 22: Registration Opens
Registration in RaPS transmits to the campus system on an hourly basis during these times:
- Monday – Friday 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
- Saturday – Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Any registration request submitted outside of these times is date/time stamped and submitted as soon as the campus system re-opens.
DECEMBER 10: SHIP Waiver Deadline
As a UC Davis student you are required to have health insurance and will be automatically enrolled in the UCD Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). The cost of SHIP coverage is approximately $1,648 per quarter. If you did not submit a waiver for fall 2019, you can still waive out of SHIP. For UC SHIP Waiver Application Deadlines and more information, click here.
DECEMBER 13, at 11:59 p.m.: Initial Registration Closes
Registration by this date ensures that students can pay their bill by the payment deadline and have the best chance of getting a seat in their preferred class or section.
DECEMBER 15: Student Fee Payment Deadline
Students can access their bill and pay through MyBill.
Students who miss the payment deadline are subject to a registration hold for future quarters.
Financial Aid Funding for course fees: Financial aid funds will be reflected in MyBill prior to fees being due (see this link for actual dates). If financial aid does not disburse as anticipated or if you have specific questions about your financial aid, please contact Pauline Moreno at Graduate Financial Aid, (530) 752-7606 or by email.
Deferred Payment Plan: Only students who have enrolled in the Deferred Payment Plan (DPP) through MyBill may pay in installments on the 15th of each month. To apply for the deferred payment plan, click here. All other students are expected to pay in full by the Fee Payment Deadline.
DECEMBER 15-18: Registration Freeze
No registration actions (add/drop) are processed during the freeze.
The freeze goes into effect on the Student Fee Payment deadline on December 15 at 12 a.m. (midnight) to allow payments to be applied to the student account balance due. Registration will open on December 18 at 6 a.m.
JANUARY 6: Instruction Begins
JANUARY 17: Final Add/Drop Deadline for Quarter
All courses, regardless of start date, must be added or dropped by this deadline to avoid the registration penalty fee.
Any registration request made after the final add/drop deadline is an exception, regardless of when the first course meeting is. If the exception is approved, you are assessed the $125 registration penalty fee.
Please note: Due to the design of the course, some instructors will not allow students to add after the first class meeting. Please contact the instructor for permission prior to adding the course.
MARCH 16-22: Finals
You are expected to attend courses through the end of finals, including all final exams at their posted times.
APRIL 5: Grades Available

MyBill Student Bill Overview
September 15: Student Fee Payment Deadline
UC Davis assess fees generally one month prior to the term’s payment deadline and then occur on a nightly basis. Fees are not assessed immediately upon enrollment.
After enrolling in courses and fees have been assessed, students can view their account balance using MyBill. MyBill account balances and activity are updated in real-time throughout the day. For the most accurate information, always refer to your MyBill account activity.
Please note that the MyBill statement is a monthly statement; it is only issued on the 22nd day of each month. If you enroll in courses after the 22nd, fees will not show up on your MyBill statement, however, you are still responsible for meeting the GSM’s payment deadline. UC Davis does not issue payment reminders.
Registration Penalties and Holds
- A registration penalty fee* of $125 is assessed if you request to drop a course after the final add/drop deadline (regardless of the date the class starts or ends).
- A registration hold is placed if you miss the payment deadline. If a hold is in placed, you will not be able to register during your registration period nor will you have access to your academic records or invoices in RaPS. Please note, other campus departments may place holds for missing requirements, such as immunizations, residency documentation, etc.
*The registration penalty fee can be waived if medical documentation (including dates) is submitted indicating a student’s inability to meet the deadline(s).
