I have never made a better career decision than when I decided to attend the GSM. I am centered in a focused, well-connected group that provides straightforward advice, personalized attention, and lasting professional relationships. I live thankfully, grateful to be a part of such an incredible community and the legacy we create daily.

I am writing from the other side. That’s right. I made it. Graduated. Took that MBA bull by the horns and held on tight for two years until the program flung me violently off into the real world – and into my dream job. But that’s beside the point.
Why are we here getting our MBAs? For most of us, we have returned to the pleasure and pain of the student lifestyle after a few or many years off to take that next step in our careers, to bring us one step closer to that “dream job”, the one job that will get us to the top of the corporate ladder and/or make us happier than any job ever has before.
As a child, I loved Christmas. It wasn’t about all the wrapping paper and ribbons and new gifts strewn about the floor. But it was that glorious moment when my mom and I gathered and handpicked beautiful thank you cards from her stationary cabinet.
Thank you wonderful readers for your interest in our blog. We will be on vacation through the New Year and will publishing a few blogs about our winter break adventures if we can, but cannot wait to see you in again in 2014! Don’t miss us too much; we’ll be back – promise!

Our first quarter at the GSM is winding down. We are still the new kids in Gallagher Hall, and we sure don’t have it all figured out yet, but things are definitely falling into place.
Yesterday, Sunday, November 17, 2013, we came together as a community to celebrate Thanksgiving. This celebration is relevant this time of year – especially with business students nearing finals.
I wanted to quickly share the best piece of advice I received before I began my MBA program.
I cannot believe that my first year of MBA at GSM has finished. I am living in Davis for a second summer now. Last summer, I arrived at Davis on a hot day, just like today, and started my new journey in this lovely town.
First year of B-school life passed so quickly. Without a real relaxation break, I have already begun my Internship at Fenwick & West, a Silicon Valley law-firm, conducting research about Venture Capital-backed companies and companies that have recent IPOs in the U.S.
Do you find yourself dreading that moment in business school when your professor hands out an infamous HBR Case? Your first taste certainly won’t be your last – business schools around the country rely on cases a major source of learning in and out of the classroom.
