Reader, MGT/B/P 201B Winter Quarter 2016
The Graduate School of Management is accepting applications for a Reader appointment during the Winter Quarter of 2016. This appointment is for Professor Gina Dokko, MGT/B/P 201B Organizational Strategy and Structure.
The objective of this course is to develop skills to analyze and address issues of firm performance and how managers affect it through strategy. As part of skill development, students learn strategic analysis tools, including models and frameworks to diagnose organizational issues and make recommendations to improve or sustain performance. Some of the work required for this course is independent and some will be performed in groups. Because top managers must typically coordinate and integrate their activities and strategies as part of a top management team, the ability to work in teams is a critical part of their work. Therefore, it is also a part of learning in this course.
Reader duties and responsibilities include:
- Set up and weekly maintenance of Canvas sites.
- Assist with grading (Includes 6 homework assignments and a midterm exam.)
- May be required to attend lectures (only if the applicant has not previously taken the course)
Preference for a student who has previously taken the course. Consideration made for students who are able to sit in on this course. A small amount of work will be required before the start of the term to get Canvas organized for the course start. Weekly work will include uploading class slides and handouts to Canvas, marking homework or the exam and recording the grades. Quick turnaround on grading assignments is necessary to meet deadlines.
