A big group of us went to the Net Impact conference, held at Cornell University this year. There were 27 of us, both first- and second-years. Big turnout! You should read about the conference (and the organization), but suffice to say, it’s about social responsibility in the business sector. Traditionally, businesses have been focused on the bottom line (profits) but for many companies in recent years, the focus has shifted towards the triple bottom line (people, planet, profit).
In October we put out a call for applications for the next generation of UC Davis Ambassadors. The class of 2011 responded en masse — we received 17 applications for six spots! All of the applicants would make amazing Ambassadors and all will make fantastic campus hosts. It was an incredibly tough selection process – thank goodness we don’t work in the admissions office – but with lots of discussion and back and forth we have our list of six ambassadors. Here’s a little background info on each of them. You’ll be hearing more from them soon.

Hi! Long time, no blog! I must admit, the posting on the blog is slow this summer, so please accept my apologies about that! However, I thought this would be the case — it’s summertime! Half of the regular posters have now graduated, and the other half are super busy with internships. And then there’s me. I’m one of those busy with an internship, but also very busy with the California Women Business Leaders study.
