Assistant Dean of Student Affairs
Amanda Opperman brings nearly a decade of broad leadership experience, including executive-level oversight of graduate management education programs and experience in the corporate sector as a strategic consultant to universities.
Her areas of expertise include student recruitment, student experience, admissions, marketing, program innovation and institutional effectiveness.
Opperman is responsible for recruiting and admitting MBA candidates across all four programs: Full-Time MBA, Sacramento Part-Time MBA, Bay Area Part-Time MBA and Online MBA. She also oversees the student experience through co-curricular and extra-curricular programming.
Before joining the School in August 2019, Opperman served as the senior director of Business, Management & Leadership Programs at the UC Davis Division of Continuing & Professional Education, responsible for managing a $5 million portfolio of programs and a staff of 11. She also served as senior director of academic partnerships at Wonderlic, which provides pre-employment and student-selection testing solutions for businesses and universities.
In addition, Opperman was assistant dean of student affairs and academic programs at the California University of Management and Sciences, and assistant vice chancellor at Southern States University.
Her thought leadership has been featured on Forbes, Career Education Review, and the Association of Talent Development.
Opperman earned her Ph.D. in Education from the Claremont Graduate University and San Diego State University joint doctoral program. She also holds a Master’s in English Literature and a Bachelor’s in English Language and Letters from San Diego State University.
