Leigh Ann Hartman
Executive Director, Development and External Relations
Leigh Ann Hartman joined the Graduate School of Management as the Senior Director of Development in June 2012 and was promoted to Executive Director in July 2015. As leader of the Development and External Relations team, she is responsible for building and fostering relationships with GSM alumni, business partners, donors and friends of the University in an effort to strengthen the GSM network, increase public awareness of the School’s programs, and secure the maximum amount of private financial support in order to meet the School’s goals.
Prior to joining UC Davis, she was a Development Director for the School of Engineering at the Kansas University Endowment Association for seven years where she successfully raised funds for scholarships, a new building and countless new and existing programs. Leigh Ann also helped launch the University’s Far Above Campaign—a $1 billion University-wide initiative launched in 2008. Before KU, she held the position of Coordinator of Alumni Relations and Public Relations at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO, from 2003 to 2005.
Originally from Redding, California, Hartman earned her BS in Business Administration from Missouri Valley College, and an MBA from the University of Central Missouri. Hartman lives with her husband Nathaniel Williams, a lecturer with the UC Davis University Writing Program, and their daughters Emerson and Margot. They enjoy restoring their 100 year old home, traveling to visit friends and family, and cheering on the Jayhawks during college basketball season.
