Hello from the UC Davis Graduate School of Management.

Today, I am reaching out to you to encourage our ongoing connection during this time of uneasiness and unpredictability.

The coronavirus pandemic has had a tremendous impact on our personal lives and on the well-being of our families and loved ones. We’re in a time of unprecedented disruption in our neighborhoods and globally.

I’d like to share a brief update about our response here at UC Davis.

It is difficult to believe that only two weeks ago here, our four campuses and classrooms were buzzing with students working on teams on projects, having fun with friends, and enjoying events and meals together.

Social distancing has changed that for the time being. We know maintaining physical distance is the best way to keep ourselves healthy and to battle this virus.

UC Davis is focused on protecting the health and safety of students and our teaching community. We are committed to upholding the quality of our education, so students can continue to make progress on their academic goals.

Thanks to new technologies and a dedicated staff to support a quick transition, our faculty will deliver all classes online this spring quarter. Students and alumni can also sign up for virtual career coaching with our staff experts.

And, we have moved all our admissions events online so prospective students actively planning their futures can learn more about us.

Universities are the engines of innovation in our society. I am confident that entrepreneurial research in medicine, science, technology and business will solve this public health crisis and will play a key role in the recovery.

In fact, UC Davis clinical pathologists, infectious disease physicians and scientists all across campus are collaborating on patient treatments, drug trials and a vaccine for COVID-19.

Most recently, UC Davis Medical Center announced a rapid coronavirus test with results available the same day. That’s a game-changer for our region.

We’ve also made adjustments to our MBA admissions process to accommodate prospective students. Please see details on our virtual admissions events, personal consultations and more.

More than ever, we deeply appreciate the commitment of alumni, Business Partners, advisors, donors and the supporters of the School. Please let me know how we might be able to help you, or your business.

This is a time of adversity, and yet we trust in the strength of our entire UC Davis community to rise to this challenge and emerge stronger.

On behalf of faculty and staff, I wish you and your families’ health and resilience.
