We have a robust onboarding experience that begins right away via Canvas. You will have onboarding assignments and engagements over Canvas as you prepare for classes to begin in the Fall.

5. Review Health Policies and Take Action as Applicable

  • All UC Davis students are automatically enrolled in, and charged for, the UC Student Health Insurance Plan (UC SHIP), unless the completed “Request for Waiver” has been received by UC Davis by the specified enrollment deadline dates and the Request for Waiver has been approved. You can enroll in this plan or request a waiver by following the instructions here
  • Review the official University of California Immunization policy. As part of this, all incoming students are required to meet the UC Immunization and TB Risk Screening requirement. These include: 2 MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccines, or a positive titer for each disease, 2 Varicella vaccines, 1 Adult TDAP, 1 meningococcal vaccine (Menactra, Menomune, or Menveo). Students become compliant with this requirement by entering their vaccination dates, uploading a copy of their immunization records, and completing the TB Risk Screening Questionnaire via our Health-E-Messaging website. Students who have not provided evidence of the required vaccinations will not be able to complete their registration for their 2nd term without a Medical Exemption Request.
  • UC strongly recommends that all members of the university community follow CDC vaccine recommendations. It also offers the option for those who prefer to opt out to do so by submitting a declination statement. More details are available at: COVID-19 Vaccine Policy | Campus Ready
