Earlier this year the Woodland Opera House Board of Trustees welcomed two new board members — business students from the UC Davis Graduate School of Management.
Shreyanshi Khanna and Ian Earley were introduced as UCD Graduate School of Management board fellows, an arrangement made possible by a partnership with the GSM’s Women in Leadership Club.
The Board Fellowship Program places MBA students, or fellows, on the boards of directors of partner organizations as non-voting, or adjunct, members. The program expands the pipeline of qualified and experienced young women and men for future roles in business leadership. It also allows students to contribute their skills and time to help solve business challenges faced by partner organizations.
The program launched in 2015 with 19 students participating. It has grown considerably since then, and has coordinated partnerships with such organizations as WEAVE, Eskaton Foundation, and Valley Vision.
Steve Cairns, WOH Board of Trustees president said: “Both Board Fellows have impressive resumes and we’re honored to have these two young professionals join us.”
Khanna is a consultant, project manager, entrepreneur, and STEM MBA candidate (pursuing concentration in Strategy and General Management) and expects to graduate in June 2023. Earley is a nonprofit professional, entrepreneur, and STEM MBA candidate (pursuing concentration in General Management and Organizational Behavior), and he also expects to graduate in June next year.
The new members initially will be working with the Board’s Human Resources Committee, but they will also be interacting with patrons and staff.
“We look forward to gaining from their knowledge, and we thank the Women in Leadership Club Co-Presidents Molly Jo Scott and Aynaxi Madhav for facilitating so that the WOH could become a part of this wonderful program,” said Lou Anderson, WOH Board of Trustees secretary.
