Marybeth Kavanagh joined the Graduate School of Management as a lecturer in 2018 after spending 30 years with IBM Corporation leading numerous software development and technical consulting engagements. Kavanagh’s clients included Fortune 100 firms, Public Sector accounts, and international clients, each with a unique set of business challenges and transformational opportunities. Kavanagh’s background in Project/Program management, Joint Application Design (JAD) techniques, Risk Analysis, and Business Transformation enabled her to successfully lead large diverse teams on complex engagements.
Kavanagh currently works as an independent IT consultant with Catalysis Group and recently participated on a team to complete a comprehensive audit of a large State agency developing a statewide application. Her extensive experience working with clients to achieve critical business goals through technological improvement and organizational change strategies gives her an excellent foundation for working with students in the IMPACT program at the GSM.
Earlier in her career Kavanagh specialized in Data Base design and recovery for Federal and international clients, and was System Architect for a large image technology project for the State of California. She has been certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) since 1999, and attained IBM Project Executive certification in 2001.
