Roslyn Roberts is a lecturer in accounting at UC Davis whose teaching and research connect financial reporting with contemporary business and societal challenges. She holds a Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Sydney and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. She also holds the Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting Credential from the IFRS Foundation.

Roberts’ research focuses on integrated and sustainability reporting, intangible assets, goodwill impairment and accounting education. Her recent publications have examined sustainability and impact reporting in higher education, the identification of material matters in integrated reporting and pandemic risk disclosures in integrated reports.

In her teaching, Roberts focuses on helping students understand how accounting applies to real business decisions. She encourages students to question information, work through problems independently and clearly explain the reasoning behind their conclusions. She also mentors students in developing original research, analysis, presentations and other applied work.

Roberts has served on the board of directors and audit committee of University Enterprises Inc. since 2022. From 2022 to 2025, she served as an economics specialist on the Sacramento County Climate Emergency Mobilization Task Force and as a member of the Climate Pollution Reduction Grants Program Outreach Advisory Committee. This work focused on Sacramento County’s path toward its 2030 carbon-reduction goals, including the effects of climate policy on environmental justice communities.
