Mission

The mission of Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic achievement and personal excellence in the study and practice of business.  Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest national recognition a business student can receive at an AACSBI school.

General Statement on Conduct

Membership into this Honor Society is earned. In addition to high academic achievement, members must be of "good moral character."  This includes conscientiously upholding and encouraging actions and behaviors that are ethical and just.

Current Membership

Its membership of 375,000 comprises the brightest and best of business leaders.

Full-Time MBA Students

MBA students who have completed 48 units by the end of their second year fall quarter and rank in the top 20 percent of eligible students are offered membership in Beta Gamma Sigma (usually in April).(Note: There is no GPA cut-off for membership. GPA ranges vary year to year depending on how many eligible students are in the pool.)

Sacramento, Bay Area, and Online MBA Students

MBA students who have completed 48 units of coursework by end of the fall quarter and rank in the top 20 percent of eligible students are offered membership in Beta Gamma Sigma (usually in April). For consistency, the GPA attained in quarter in which students achieve 48 units will be used for computing eligibility. Students are eligible for nomination to membership only once during their matriculation at the GSM. (Note: There is no GPA cut-off for membership. GPA ranges vary year to year depending on how many eligible students are in the pool.)

Master of Professional Accountancy Students

MPAc students who have completed at least 32 units by the end of winter quarter and rank in the top 20 percent of eligible students are offered membership in Beta Gamma Sigma (in April). (Note: There is no GPA cut-off for membership. GPA ranges vary year to year depending on how many eligible students are in the pool.)

Master of Science in Business Analytics Students

MSBA students who have completed fall and winter quarters and rank in the top 20 percent of eligible students are offered membership in Beta Gamma Sigma (in April). (Note: There is no GPA cut-off for membership.  GPA ranges vary year to year depending on how many eligible students are in the pool.)
