Vanessa Errecarte, M.A., M.B.A., is a lecturer in marketing at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management, where she teaches Strategic Branding, Digital Marketing and Personal Branding, the latter of which takes an innovative approach to professional visibility in the digital era. Her courses emphasize applying marketing theory to real-world communication challenges, helping students translate ideas into meaningful value for customers, organizations and communities.

Errecarte has spent her career advising corporations, businesses, nonprofits and professionals on marketing strategy, brand development and digital communication. She is the founder of Marketing Simplified, a consulting and training firm that works with organizations across a range of industries. Her teaching has been recognized with the Graduate School of Management’s Teacher of the Year award, and she was named a favorite professor by Poets & Quants in its Best & Brightest MBA recognition. She is also the author of "Valuable & Visible: Redefining Personal Branding by Putting Impact Over Image" (Wiley, 2026).

Errecarte holds an MBA from the UC Davis Graduate School of Management, an M.A. in Communication from the University of the Pacific, where her graduate work examined the emergence of social networks and their influence on consumer behavior, and a B.A. in Communication from the University of California, Davis. She is deeply committed to community service and has served in leadership roles across several local nonprofit and civic organizations. Outside of work, she’s happiest soaking up time with her two amazing children, family and friends…and earning the carbs she loves with her workout shoes.
