GSM Student Association - MPAc

The GSM Student Association - MPAc ("GSMSA-MPAc") enhances the value of the Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAc) student experience by creating a collaborative community that facilitates academic, ethical, social and professional growth.

The GSMSA-MPAc provides a framework for generating ideas to improve the MPAc program, networking with alumni, engaging in philanthropic activities and coordinating extracurricular events.

Oscar Halliwell
President

Oscar is a 2021 MPAc candidate. He received a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics with a minor in Accounting from UC Davis. Oscar has set the focus of the board as trying to recreate the in-person experience in the online environment and increase the networking opportunities for students within other graduate programs. Following graduation from the MPAc program, Oscar will begin working with PwC as an Assurance Associate in San Francisco. He has a passion for the outdoors with interests in skiing, mountain biking, rock climbing and backpacking. Connect with him on LinkedIn.

Wyatt Tucker
Vice President

Wyatt is a 2021 MPAc candidate. He received a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics with an emphasis in Business Economics from UC Davis. During his time in undergrad, Wyatt competed on the UC Davis NCAA Division I baseball team. As Vice President of the MPAc Board, Wyatt will focus on maximizing participation in events and expanding the UC Davis MPAc presence. After graduating from the MPAc program, Wyatt will begin working as an Audit Associate for Deloitte in Sacramento. In his spare time, Wyatt enjoys golf, reading, and networking with others. Ingrid Isea-Smith
Director of Communications

Ingrid Isea-Smith, affectionately known as Mika by friends and family, began her journey in accounting in 2014 when she worked temporarily as a bookkeeper’s assistant. Ever since then, she knew that accounting was the right path for her. She graduated from Cal State Monterey Bay in 2019 with a degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Accountancy at UC Davis Graduate School of Management with the aspiration of starting a career in public accounting upon graduation.

Mika was raised in Caracas, Venezuela, where her mom took her when she was barely a few months old until she was 12, when she returned to Los Angeles. In her spare time, she enjoys running, the outdoors, reading, and wine tasting. She has three cats: Simon, Ernie and Petra. She enjoys their company and is also passionate about supporting animal welfare causes. Connect with her on LinkedIn.

Director of Internal Events

Chloe Zabrek is a 2021 MPAc candidate. She graduated from Seattle University where she majored in accounting. After spending four years in Washington, Chloe was ready to come back to the California sunshine. She is excited to set roots in the Sacramento area and join CliftonLarsonAllen as an associate next year. Chloe looks forward to using her experience in event planning to provide opportunities to connect her MPAc cohort. Weiru Chen
Director of External Events

Weiru Chen completed his undergraduate at the University of Colorado Boulder with a duel emphasis in accounting and information systems. Currently he is working on his Master of Professional Accountancy degree at UC Davis and will graduate in June 2021. Weiru loves archery and dancing, and was a Poppin dancer for six years in a dance group. After graduation, he hopes to pursue a career as an accounting associate at one of the Big Four.
