National Recognition as Top-10 Military Friendly Graduate School

Supporting students on active duty and veterans

The UC Davis Graduate School of Management has been ranked among the top-10 graduate schools in the nation and designated a Gold level 2020-2021 Military Friendly® School by militaryfriendly.com

The Military Friendly® School with Gold distinction is awarded to schools that scored within 10% of the 10th ranking school in their category.

The Graduate School of Management is ranked No. 8 among U.S. graduate schools, and is the only top 10 graduate business school on the West Coast.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey completed by the school. Student survey data was also taken into consideration for the designation. More than 1,000 schools participated in the 2020-2021 survey, with 625 schools earning the designation. This is the 19th year of the survey.

Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.

Consistently ranked a top Military Friendly® graduate school over the last decade, UC Davis is proud of our student veterans and their achievements inside and outside the classroom.

“Attending the Graduate School of Management has been a fantastic experience for me as a student veteran," said alumnus Brandon Quackenbush MBA 19.

"In the classroom, professors and fellow students have valued the unique perspective military service brings, and the career development staff have been steadfast advocates for the exceptional leadership and management skills veterans bring to the business world.”

UC Davis Provides Unique Opportunities

The UC Davis Graduate School of Management welcomes applicants from all branches of the military. UC Davis graduate business students (MBAs, M.S. in Business Analytics, Master of Accountancy) still serving or with past military service have excelled inside and outside of the classroom. Their leadership skills, project management experience, team-based operations as well as confidence to execute collaboratively in high-pressure, real-world situations are characteristics that business schools and employers value.

The UC Davis Graduate School of Management (GSM) is committed to making merit scholarship and financial aid available to qualified military personnel.

The GSM recognizes and values the contributions and sacrifices of military spouses and dependents and the experience that these individuals bring to the diverse community at UC Davis. Because of the School's small size and close-knit community, families, spouses and dependents are deeply involved in student experience and come to support each other.

The UC Davis Veterans Success Center provides services that foster academic excellence of the whole student and the spouses and dependents. The Davis college town atmosphere, and location close to major military bases, also makes UC Davis a prime location for military families.

About Military Friendly® Schools

The Military Friendly® Schools list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly® Schools survey from participating institutions.

The survey questions, methodology, criteria and weighting were developed with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council of educators and employers. The survey is administered for free and is open to all postsecondary schools that wish to participate.
