2024 Entering Class Represents the Largest in MSBA Program History

The UC Davis Master of Science in Business Analytics program welcomed our seventh incoming class with 105 students and the largest cohort in the program’s history, slightly edging out the entering class of two years ago by six students.

It’s the first UC Davis MSBA class of over 100 students since the program launched in 2017—and one of the most diverse.

"We’re excited to bring in the largest cohort in program history and to also have such a talented and diverse group of students join the UC Davis MSBA family," said MSBA Executive Director Eric Duarte-Mcdermott.

The students have come to the campus in San Francisco from eight U.S. states and 10 countries across three continents. And they are 54% female.

What’s more, these master’s students earned their undergraduate degrees from 77 universities globally, including UC Davis and four other University of California campuses.

They also bring work experience at nearly 30 global companies such as Accenture, Baidu, Deloitte, IBM, Huawei and Samsung just to name a few.

This year’s cohort is in the midst of orientation and international students will participate in a Culture and Communication Bootcamp. The cohort's first courses, Foundations of Analytics and the Practicum Initiation, as well as a day-long tour of the UC Davis campus and Gallagher Hall, will round out their summer.

The size of the class also means students will be working in teams on year-long practicums for a record 25 projects for client companies and organizations. They'll bring their collective skills, expertise and backgrounds together with a faculty advisor to solve complex data analytics challenges and present their recommendations to top executives. 

These students have joined the UC Davis MSBA program that QS currently ranks No. 1 globally for return on investment and No. 2 worldwide for “Value for the Money.”
