Why the UC Davis MPAc Program Stands Out
Davis offers community, charm and career success
For me, the decision to pursue an MPAc degree at UC Davis was easy.
During my undergraduate studies at UC Davis, I fell in love with the small-town charm, vibrant community, and scenic campus.
UC Davis is the perfect setting for both study and relaxation. Known for its friendly atmosphere and scenic beauty, the campus offers a range of study spots and green spaces such as the UC Davis arboretum, perfect for taking long strolls after a stressful class session and picnicking with your friends or significant other.
This campus environment was a major factor in my decision to continue to graduate from UC Davis and prepare to take the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.
What Makes the UC Davis MPAc Community Unique?
One of the program’s standout features is its collaborative and supportive cohort.
Everyone knows each other by name. This close-knit environment fosters cooperation and teamwork, whether you’re tackling group projects, long homework assignments, or preparing for exams. Even those with little or no accounting background feel at home, thanks to the welcoming culture and helpful peers.
Social events, such as BBQs, bowling nights, and sporting events, add to the sense of community. These activities aren’t just fun, they’re essential for building relationships that can last a lifetime.
Advice for Prospective Students
If you’re considering the MPAc program, here’s how to make the most of your experience:
- Connect with peers and faculty: Build strong relationships with your cohort and take advantage of the faculty’s expertise.
- Participate in social events: Whether it’s a BBQ or a bowling night, these events are great to network and unwind.
- Leverage resources: Use opportunities like the exclusive Meet the Firms event where we network with recruiters, and other networking opportunities to build your professional connections.
As the program continues to shape my academic and professional journey, it’s clear that UC Davis provides the tools, support, and connections needed to help you succeed in a career in accounting.
