About our Organization
Our Mission
The Associated Students of Management (ASM) is a registered nonprofit 501c3 organization dedicated to enhancing and elevating the experience of the entire UC Davis Graduate School of Management (GSM) community through club assistance, organizing social and professional events, and providing unique leadership opportunities. As an ASM member, you will work within a non-profit structure and connect with like-minded students across all GSM programs who share a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
Joining the ASM is a chance to truly illustrate your commitment to immersing yourself fully in the Graduate School of Management business school experience while enhancing the experience of yourself and your peers. Whether you're looking to strengthen your resume, build your professional network, or more deeply connect with other driven individuals in the UC Davis GSM community, the ASM is the perfect place for you.
What We Do
- Advocate for students’ needs and interests with the GSM administration
- Organize signature events to bring together students, faculty, and alumni
- Support all student clubs, including funding of club events. View a list of current student clubs.
- Host cultural events, including Diwali, Lunar New Year, Friendsgiving, Passover, and Halloween celebrations
- Maintain a student lounge at Gallagher Hall
- Establish and maintain strong connections and engagement with the alumni network

Meet Our Board
Varsha Yelamanchi
President
Varsha Yelamanchi is originally from Hyderabad, India. She holds a Master's degree in Pharmacy. With prior experience in HR Operations and Talent Acquisition, she is currently pursuing a full-time MBA with a focus on Strategy and Human Resources. Varsha is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion. As president, she envisions cultivating a deeply interconnected and vibrant student community at the GSM, dedicated to enhancing the experience for every student.

Simrun Bhandal
Director of Marketing and Outreach
Simrun Bhandal was born in Fremont, California, and is a Sacramento Native. She graduated from California State University East Bay with a Bachelors in Marketing and Management. She has worked in Real Estate Development as a Marketing Coordinator for the last two years. Simrun is continuing her focus on Marketing and Product Management at the GSM and will be working for SC Johnson Lifestyle Brands as an Innovations Intern during the summer of 2024. During her free time, she enjoys cooking, baking, and spending time with her nieces and nephews. As the Director of Marketing and Outreach, Simrun hopes to bring the GSM community together through events and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Alexis Rangel
Director of Communications
Alexis Rangel is a 2025 Master of Management candidate from Turlock, California, in the Central Valley. She is a double Aggie, having attended Modesto Junior College before transferring to the University of California, Davis, to complete her Bachelor of Arts in communication with a minor in technology management. Rangel’s background includes marketing and management roles.
She is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion and has won national awards for speeches she prepared on immigration, mental health and women’s rights. As the Master of Management director of communications, Rangel works to promote a lifelong connection between members of the GSM community and the inaugural MM cohort by encouraging engagement and collaborating closely with the ASM director of marketing and outreach.

Devin Cheong
Director of Health and Wellness
Devin Cheong is a 2025 MBA Candidate, with a BS Mechanical Engineering degree from Boston University. With a career in mechanical design engineering rotating between Oil & Gas, Wastewater & Hydropower, he has used his MBA to pivot into Product Marketing in Sustainable Energy. As Director of Health & Wellness, he aims to foster an active and fitness-positive environment at the GSM, offering fitness programs, hikes/ski trips, and ensuring healthy nutrition at school (in the form of healthy snacks).

Aashi Mehrotra
Director of Career Services
Aashi Mehrotra is an MBA student specializing in marketing and strategy, currently immersed in the biotech sector. She grew up in Mumbai, where her passion for theatre and Bollywood movies took root. Her career path has led her from being a trained pathologist to a role as a Product Manager in a healthcare startup. In addition to her studies, Aashi serves as a Director of Career Services and acts as an Ambassador in the biotech/healthcare field, utilizing her diverse experiences to foster innovation and guide peers towards fulfilling career opportunities.

Nahid Taj
Director of Alumni Relations
Nahid Taj is a full time MBA candidate and Co-President of Marketing and Product Management Club at UC Davis. Her career highlights include impactful roles at Amazon and over 8 years of experience working in India and the US. Originally from India, Udaipur (City of Lakes), She has been living in the Bay area for the last 4 years. She is passionate about impacting the lives of people on a day to day basis through her work. She aims to leverage her skills as Director of Alumni Relations to foster a vibrant, connected GSM alumni community. Her goal is to ensure continuous engagement and support for alumni through strategic events and initiatives, enhancing the alumni network's value and impact.

Nicolas Seto
Director of Academic Relations
Nicolas is a 2025 MBA candidate focused in Entrepreneurship, Strategy, and Finance. He is a Bay Area native with a background in software development. He is passionate about social good and the environment. As the academic liaison, he hopes to strengthen the connections between the faculty and students inside and outside of the classroom. During his free time, he enjoys taking strolls with his wife and 7-year-old pitbull along the arboretum.

Michael Hui
Director of Student Welfare
Michael Hui was born and raised in Hayward, California. He graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a Bachelor of Science in managerial economics and a Bachelor of Arts in communication, along with a minor in technology management. Hui worked as a student fellow intern at Yolo Food Bank through the Sacramento Valley College Corps program for the past couple of years. This internship allowed him to develop his leadership, organizational, communication, and data analysis skills while serving the food-insecure community in Yolo County.
Hui is currently enrolled at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management, where he is pursuing a STEM-designated Master of Management degree. As the director of student welfare, Hui desires to be a light to his peers by actively listening to their concerns and guiding them toward appropriate resources.

Nam Nguyen
Director of Finance
Nam was born and raised in Hanoi, Vietnam. For the past 9 years, Nam has worked as a public accountant at KPMG Ltd. in Hanoi, Vietnam and Sydney, Australia. Nam has extensive knowledge and experience in managing multiple teams working on audits of various high-profile clients. As a 2025 full-time MBA candidate at GSM, Nam is focusing on Finance, Strategy and Entrepreneurship. He is passionate about helping organizations create values by effective strategy and financial decisions. As Director of Finance at ASM, Nam aims to drive financial efficiency and effectiveness for the organization while building meaningful relationships with people from the GSM community.

Dekyi Lhamo
Assistant Director of Finance
Dekyi is a 2025 full-time MBA candidate and holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering. Before relocating to Davis, she worked as a developer at Oracle Financial Services software Ltd, developing/enhancing banking software. A Tibetan, born and raised in India, Dekyi is passionate about human rights and the development of marginalized communities. Dekyi aims to transition into a financial role and, as the Assistant to the Director of Finance, she hopes to enhance financial efficiency and contribute positively to the GSM community.

Min Zhu
Internal Affairs Vice President
Minhua Zhu has a background in Nutrition and Food Chemistry. She is interested in the finance and venture capital of food, agriculture and biotech industries. As the Internal Affairs Vice President at ASM, she aims to cultivate better student-led club collaborations. When not working, Min enjoys traveling, photography, skiing, hiking and sailing.

Hitesh Bali
Event Coordinator
Hitesh Bali, originally from Punjab, India, is a full-time MBA candidate at the University of California, Davis, focusing on strategic planning and marketing. With a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering and more than five years of professional experience, Bali has worked across diverse industries, including edtech, SaaS, and medical sales.
At the GSM, Bali is passionate about fostering collaboration, building connections, and leveraging innovative solutions to create a global impact. In his free time, he enjoys learning and playing new sports.

Shivang Goel
Assistant Bookkeeper
Shivang Goel is a 2026 MBA candidate specializing in strategy and product management. Originally from India, Goel earned a bachelor’s degree in electronics and computer engineering before embarking on a career in product management roles in health tech and startups. As a Biotechnology Industry Immersion scholar, he leverages his technical expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to drive innovation in healthcare and technology.
In his role as a senior finance associate, Goel manages financial operations and supports strategic budgeting initiatives, bringing financial acumen and innovative problem-solving skills to the GSM community.
Roshan Antony Paul
External VP
Roshan is a 2025 full-time MBA candidate with a bachelor’s in Computer Science. Before moving to Davis, he was a part of the Consulting team at a tech startup that focused on restaurant management platforms. He aspires to create a lasting impact on the food, agriculture, wine, and spirits industry through innovative solutions and sustainable practices. A native of South India but spent most of his childhood in Dubai. He is passionate about the food & beverage industry, and in his free time, he loves playing sports, cooking, or working on new cocktails.

Jackson Cloyd
MM President
Jackson Cloyd is a 2025 Master of Management candidate. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in American studies with a minor in managerial economics from the University of California, Davis. Cloyd has career experience coaching European football for the Danube Dragons.
As president of the Master of Management program, Cloyd aims to build connections with each member of the cohort and spread joy and positivity throughout each day.

Nabarjun Vashisth
First-Year Liaison
Nabarjun Vashisth originally hails from Assam, India, and has resided in the United States since 2014. He holds undergraduate and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Amity University in Noida, India, and Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina, respectively. Vashisth has about eight years of experience working in Atlanta, Georgia, and Charleston, South Carolina, with roles in the transportation engineering industry.
He is currently a full-time MBA candidate with an emphasis on supply chain, consulting, and product marketing. Vashisth also serves as the first-year liaison at ASM, where he focuses on improving student connections and planning events for the GSM community. In his leisure time, he enjoys traveling, cooking, meeting new people, and playing music and sports.
