Per state and county orders, Gallagher Hall is operating under
Red Status: Suspended Operations
last updated 04/09/2021
Keeping our community safe and healthy will require patience, consideration and empathy. We know Graduate School of Management community members are up for the challenge.
Spring 2021 Instruction
Spring instruction is scheduled to be remote. If allowed by campus, county and state guidelines, we will have in-person classes at a later time. Currently, guidelines limit in-person instruction due to the county being in a Moderate tier according to the state restrictions on reopening non-essential indoor business operations. The GSM is operating at a Red Status: Suspended Operations due to these restrictions. We will provide updates weekly.
Gallagher Hall COVID-19 Safety Guidelines
Welcome to UC Davis Graduate School of Management. In collaboration with central campus and adhering to Yolo County and state guidelines, we have established the following protocol for your safety and the safety of the community.
As of November 18, 2020, COVID-19 testing is now available to all UC Davis students and employees and will be required on a weekly basis to access any Davis campus facility.
If you plan to come to Gallagher Hall, you will need to schedule a COVID-19 test. More information about testing can be found on the Campus Ready site.
Entering the Building
Before you arrive at Gallagher Hall, please candidly assess how you are feeling. DO NOT COME TO CAMPUS IF YOU ARE NOT FEELING WELL. Err on the side of caution. Your instructors and GSM leaders will not penalize you for staying home.
While on campus, we expect you to follow these guidelines:
- Wear a face covering at all times.
- Maintain social distancing of six feet from other individuals.
- A Daily Symptom survey, which you will complete via a smartphone app.
- Wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitizer. The GSM is providing the use of hand sanitizer upon entry to the building as well as providing hand sanitizing stations throughout the building for your convenience.
- Stay home if you are sick.
Building Hours for Faculty, Staff and Students
Faculty and staff have access to Gallagher Hall at reduced occupancy. The building will be closed to the public and students during this time until further notice.
As of September 1, 2020, Graduate School of Management MPAc classes are being delivered remotely and will remain remote through spring quarter. In order to prioritize student study spaces for our cleaning and disinfecting efforts, at this time, classrooms are closed and unavailable for use.
Gallagher Hall restrooms are limited to two people per restroom, regardless of the restroom’s size. Please be considerate. Wash your hands thoroughly. Try to avoid using handles in the restroom spaces. The restrooms will be disinfected and cleaned frequently.
Shared Common Spaces
Please do not congregate in the interior corridors. You will see that casual seating throughout the building has been removed and/or signage has been placed when seating is unavailable. All of these barriers are there to keep our community safe and healthy. Please do not ignore or tamper with them. Please adhere to all signage throughout the building.
We encourage you to take conversations outside the building. Fresh air and additional space for social distancing create a safer environment for discussion.
- Meeting rooms should only be used by one occupant at a time.
- Face coverings are required when the occupant is unable to meet physical distancing parameters.
- Occupants should sanitize their own area prior to use or when contamination is suspected.
- The door may be closed or open at the discretion of the occupant.
If you would like to inquire about reserving a study space for individual work, please contact your MPAc program manager, Alex Minnis. For more information on study space, please see the guidelines for reserving space.
The student lounge was designed to foster collegial congregation. We look forward to using this space in that capacity again. In the meantime, the student lounge is closed for use until further notice.
Elevators and Stairs
Please read the signs providing specific instructions for the elevators and stairs. Only one person may ride the elevator at a time. Each stairwell has its own instructions to permit appropriate social distancing.
