At the Academic Kickoff, which brings students, faculty and staff together to start the new academic year, we asked new students why they chose the UC Davis Graduate School of Management.

Representing our Full-Time MBA, Part-Time MBA, Master of Management and Master of Science in Business Analytics programs, students from California, Mexico and Canada shared the experiences, opportunities and goals that brought them to UC Davis.

Hi. My name is Mariana Picazo. I'm from Tijuana, Mexico, and I chose UC Davis because it's an amazing MBA school. I'm in the MBA Full-Time program, and I'm really happy to be here.

Melissa Sanchez Robinson MBA 28

Hi, my name is Melissa Sanchez Robinson, and I am from Salinas, California. I am part of the Sacramento Part-Time MBA program. I chose UC Davis because of the community.

Aziz Raj, MBA 28

Hi there. My name is Aziz Raj. I am from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I moved to California last year, and I'm part of the Part-Time MBA program here at UC Davis. And the reason why I chose UC Davis is a few. Number one, they're amazing faculty. They're not only industry professionals, they're doing a lot of research in their fields. They care about our learning. I also joined because of their industry immersions. I come from a sustainability and agriculture background and want to get my foot into biotech here in the Bay. So I think this is a perfect way to get that done. And last but not least, they offer a lot of flexible programs in the Bay Area and Sacramento. So I'm really happy with that, with everything else going on.
