Business Minor Name Change FAQs

Why is the name changing?

The new name more clearly reflects the content of the minor and aligns better with student expectations and employer recognition.

When will the name change take effect?

It is effective fall quarter 2026.

I am a current technology management minor student graduating in fall 2026 or later, and would like to request to have the old name, technology management, on my diploma instead of business minor. Is this allowed?

Yes. Students who matriculated to UC Davis prior to fall 2026 may choose to have the old name, technology management.

I already submitted a minor declaration for the technology management minor and I am graduating after Fall 2026. Can I change it to the business minor?

Yes. If you are graduating fall 2026 or after, you will be able to remove the technology management minor and declare the business minor after fall 2026 using the Change of Program Petition in OASIS.

I am graduating before fall 2026. Can I change to the business minor?

Unfortunately, no. The name change doesn’t take effect until fall 2026. If you are interested, you can request a supplemental certificate. For more information, please speak with the GSM minor advisor.
