Professor David Woodruff Named 2024 INFORMS Fellow

Distinguished honor recognizes significant contributions to operations research, analytics and INFORMS

UC Davis Graduate School of Management Professor David L. Woodruff, renowned for his work in business analytics, has been named to the 2024 class of INFORMS Fellows, one of the highest honors in the field of operations research and analytics.

INFORMS, the premier international association for the decision and data sciences, names a new class of fellows each year. They are leaders in the field whose innovative contributions have transformed industries and improved lives worldwide. 

Woodruff, one of 12 luminaries named to the 2024 INFORMS Fellows class, will be celebrated at the 2024 INFORMS Annual Meeting, held October 20-23 in Seattle, Washington.

Woodruff is being honored for contributions to the theory and practice of stochastic optimization, the development of high-quality, open-source software and service to the operations research community.

"I feel fortunate to have been selected from among the many deserving candidates, Woodruff said. “This award inspires me to remain productive to Emeritus status at UC Davis where I have been very well supported through my career."
