James Stevens is a lecturer in the UC Davis Graduate School of Management, teaching organizational behavior courses in the MBA program and leadership courses in Executive Education. He brings his more than two decades of leadership and senior management experience into the classroom. That experience includes leading diverse and successful teams, launching new programs and developing compelling curricula.

For 15 years, he served as senior assistant dean of student affairs for the GSM. Over that period, his portfolio included admissions, academic and student services, program management, career development, leadership programming, corporate relations and executive education. Prior to that, he led teams in admissions, student programs and career development at Yale School of Management, New York University Stern School of Business, University of Michigan Ross School of Business and American University. He has served on various committees and boards of directors, most recently on the Tahoe Institute for Rural Health. Along the way, he worked as a consultant for KPMG before finally deciding that his passion lay in working more closely with talented students. He has his MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business in Ann Arbor, Michigan and his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in international relations from American University in Washington, DC.
