Declaring the Business Major

Changing or adding the business major (starting Fall 2027)

Due to high demand and limited capacity, the UC Davis business major is capped at 50 changes of major per year. Beginning in 2027, eligible students who wish to change to or add the business major must apply through lottery. This process ensures equitable access while maintaining academic standards. 

For current UC Davis students who are interested in learning more about our minor programs, please attend peer advising drop-in hours or an information session.

Students graduating prior to fall 2026 will complete the technology management minor. Beginning fall 2026, the program name will change to business minor.

Students with questions about how this change applies to their graduation timeline should contact the academic advisor for the minor programs for individualized guidance.

Every student majoring in business is assigned an advisor who serves as a source of knowledge and support. This partnership begins the summer before matriculation and continues to graduation.
